Hey guys, long time no see. Been busy with life and s***. Exciting news!

 

Member ultraspeedxrs is offering ecu reflash services for the 2zzge XRS! I got mine reflashed by him (I was the guinea pig basically) and it's GREAT! Lift is at 5500 and redline is at 8500. Other parameters adjusted: ignition optimization, fuel optimization, vvt and ignition maps immensely smoothed out. Oh, launch control too!

 

Anyways, hit him up on instagram @scoottuned and he'll give you all the info you may need. He has a Facebook but I don't know what it is.

 

Ronie is also offering reflash services but I am unsure of his exact specifications.

Did anyone else know this? I did not. My stock ecu part # is 89661-02F80 and apparently there is another variant...89661-02C50. My only guess is that an '05 has a different part number than my '06

LOL!! Yeah, I'm alive. Have not gotten a Type R yet. I have a few options as I'm getting closer and closer to getting a second vehicle for myself so I can keep the XRS as my show car...in the garage lol

 

My options are '09-10 HHR SS, gen1 CTS-V, '08+ SAAB 9-3, '12-13 Buick Regal GS, or a '10+ G37

Painted the cooling panel black. Bought a CE/LE front bumper cover for the lip since it doesn't cover the slits in the stock bumper cover with the ground effects. BC Extreme Drop Ccoilovers are on. Sending the bumper, lip, ducktail, eyelids, trunk lid for paint. Got a bumper quick release with red attachments. Things are coming together ;)

Lol yeah it was loud as f***! You will need a flex pipe. If you don't, your chances of cracking the header from the movement of the engine under WOT is greatly increased.

This was mine the day I got it. High temp black ceramic coating. I didn't even ask for it, Paul just did it because he's a bad ass lol.

Yours looks different probably because Red's was a prototype and you actually have the production version with cleaned up welds and s***.

No, you won't.

This other shop I called quoted me at $85 to install the long tube header and he said he'd run it without a catalytic converter. Some shops will do it for the $$$ lol


That's hella cheap! I did the install on mine myself with the help of a friend...it took like 10 f***ing hours. Dropping the subframe 2-3 inches is mandatory, there's no way around that.

How do you guys with the 4-1 Ppe header run yours?


On my setup, I have PPE>flex pipe>test pipe (no CAT)>VIBRANT bottle resonator>Borla proXS muffler. If you decide to not have the CAT, you'll need an angled o2 defouler to extend the downstream o2 sensor farther away from the exhaust gases which in turn doesn't trigger the P0420 CEL. I had to hack up my stock exhaust because the stock CAT will not go back to the original position obviously because of the longtube design.

ASLONG... as you get a plug-n-play harness... none of that that hack-n-slash bs harness crap :angry:


It was most definitely not a bulls*** mod. Other than a CEL that might pop up, it was one of the best mods I have ever done to my car...and I'm not the only one to think that.

~$300 is much more attainable for the "average Joe" enthusiast like myself than the $1500+ for a standalone and a tune. Now that my car is paid off, a standalone and a full tune is in line.

Oh, and there is no vvtl-i controller, the ONLY way to lower the lift point on an XRS is the ecu swap or a standalone.

And here I thought running 10/8K was getting crazy lol.
I mean I know you need them that high for how low your going but damn, that ride must be stiff as hell.

Also why'd you let go of the M-XRS ECU?
You going stand alone?


Yeah, it'll be stiff, but I want to be as low as possible lol. I finally decided that I need to grow some hair on my nuts and go full standalone which will be happening come hell or high water. I have 1.5 payments left to make on it then s***'s gonna get real lol.
